Intentional Camera Movement (ICM)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A photography technique where you move the camera while taking a photo, intentionally introducing blur and distortion into the image. This creates a sense of dynamism and movement through blur and distortion.

Some common techniques:

  • Panning: Moving the camera horizontally to follow a moving subject. By following a subject in motion at the same speed while the shutter is open, you get an exciting effect. The subject remains in focus and the background blurs into motion distortion.
  • Tilting: Rotating the camera to create a sense of depth or perspective.
  • Swirling: Moving the camera in a circular motion to create a dynamic, abstract effect.
  • Shaking: Gently shaking the camera to introduce subtle blur and distortion.
